Crystal Palace's relegation from the Women's Super League was confirmed following a humiliating 7-1 defeat to West Ham on Sunday.

Needing to avoid a defeat to delay an immediate return to the second tier, Palace found themselves three goals down at the break after Shekiera Martinez's hat-trick.

Martinez netted her fourth in the 62nd minute, becoming the second player - after Fran Kirby for Chelsea against Reading in 2021 - to score four goals in a WSL match.

The Hammers added to their tally eight minutes later through Viviane Asseyi, before Palace found a late consolation through Katie Stengel's 80th-minute penalty.

But Rehanne Skinner's team piled more misery on their opponents late on, with substitute Emma Harries scoring two goals in eight minutes to move her side up to sixth.

Manchester City, meanwhile, kept their Champions League qualification hopes alive with a hard-earned 1-0 win over Leicester City.

Jess Park scored the only goal after being found inside the box by Lauren Hemp, who was making her first appearance since November after recovering from a knee injury.

The win moved Nick Cushing's side four points behind third-placed Manchester United, who will face leaders Chelsea on Wednesday.

At Walton Hall Park, Nikita Parris netted a stoppage-time winner to help Brighton edge a five-goal thriller against Everton, with the Seagulls emerging 3-2 victors.

Sara Holmgaard had given the hosts a ninth-minute lead, before Michelle Agyemang restored parity in the contest.

Everton restored their advantage two minutes later when Katja Snoeijs finished past Melina Loeck, but Fran Kirby responded again for Brighton just before the interval.

But in the dying stages, former Everton forward Parris raced clear before stroking the ball beyond the grasp of Courtney Brosnan to ensure the Toffees remained in eighth.

Having come through the Everton academy and made 38 senior appearances, the England international has since scored nine league goals against them.

Liverpool and Tottenham played out an entertaining 2-2 draw, with Sophie Haug scoring a brace for Amber Whiteley's team.

Haug had fired the Reds into a 12th-minute lead before an own-goal by Liverpool goalkeeper Rachael Laws and a Clare Hunt finish had Spurs in the lead at the break.

But just six minutes after the restart, Haug notched her second of the game, powering a fine header beyond the grasp of Lize Kop to seal a share of the spoils.

Spurs remain on course to equal their worst-ever WSL finish, with their point on Merseyside keeping them down in ninth. Liverpool, meanwhile, remain in fifth.
